Drama Monologue

Written For: Dylan Draper

Performed By: Louis More

Wow, it's December already? Jeez, only a few more days and it'll be my birthday. I can't believe I'm already turning seventeen. I swear it feels like it was only yesterday that I was saying my first words and taking my first steps. It's crazy how time flies. I could've never grown up the way I have on my own though. I owe a lot to my brother Noah. He was always there for me no matter what. He helped me through hard times and gave me a lot of great memories, all which I will never forget. A lot of our great memories are from when we went on canoe trips. Man, I just love the outdoors. The smell of the fresh, crisp air. The sound of water flowing down the river and the birds chirping. I just love all of that. All of the wonderful things that nature has to offer. It brings great joy to me and brings back a lot of great memories. It's kind of a funny coincidence though that I love the wilderness so much because a lot of people tell me that if I were to be any animal that I'd be an owl. Now you might be confused as to why people would say that but they're kind of right. I mean, I'm the kind of person who just likes to sit back and observe what goes on around me and not really get involved unless I have to. So it's only fitting that I'd be an owl because they tend to do the same thing. There are a lot of things that I've experienced and learned over my seventeen years of living and I know for certain that there will be plenty of more experiences and learning opportunities to come in the very near future.
